About the Author
Harry N. Seymour, Ph.D. is an artist and Professor Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he served as chair of the Department of Communication Disorders. He is the lead author of the Diagnostic Evaluation of Language Variation (DELV), the only standardized test in speech and language designed specifically to reduce linguistic and cultural bias in the assessment of children. Seymour currently serves as Artist in Residence at the Mariposa Museum in Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard, where Defiant Alliance: A Children's Book is on display throughout the summer season.
